7th Touch Art Festival - Touching a World of Original Matter
l Exhibitios l Workshops l Guided Tours l Symposiums l Poetry Reading l
Handicraft is popular recently. Have you ever thought, human beings earn a living by searching for raw materials from mother nature, for making some essential products such as kitchenware to deal with the daily basics?
Handicraft starts from primitive society. Homo sapiens fight for their life by interacting with the natural environment; and hence, needs are required by humans. Folks create various products to maintain the daily needs from different aspects, which makes handicraft making become one of the main activities between the community.
When we redefine the meaning of handicraft, can we switch the focus on the material, but not on the usage of the final products? Can we escape from the social construction and search for the relationship between the elements and the natural earth?
"Touching a World of Vibrant Matter" as the main theme of the 7th Touch Art Festival, varied artwork from different commission artists would mainly focus on touch (which may also be equipped with different sensational elements).
Hope that the features of diverse artwork could lead us to reflect the linkage between art and nature.
