馬普切（Mapuche），智利境內最大的原住民族群，他們在歷史上從未臣服於印加帝國或西班牙殖民者，家園曾經橫跨太平洋海岸與安第斯山脈。今日，他們的家被地主富農與跨國林業財團蠶蝕鯨吞，族人流離失所，嘗試捍衛土地卻飽遭智利政府再三打壓。正在泰國交流的智利藝術家Perpetua
Rodríguez描繪祖國情狀，賦予畫作爆炸性的社會與政治意涵，為受盡多年獨裁統治和政治謊言而疲憊的同胞打出一個缺口，理解世界。
These paintings are a blast, which encompasses what social
and political is happening in Chile in recent times. It was enough to leave the
country for the paint to take local content, both socially and politically.
During the period of work in Chile, the symbolist paintings had a mark, even in
some cases, with hints of mysticism, the internal working of the human being
from the landscape as a theme. A succession of happenings occurred in Chile in
the past years, with the main character "hypocrisy".
