THE BODY AS A LANDSCAPE

Addressed to people of all levels of movement experience, the workshop is based on a playful approach of movement and improvisation.  Going through precise stages on continuous flow, the course questions the availability.  Cultivate a better conscience of the osseous support in order to eliminate or stimulate the muscular tensions, and articulate favorable ways to sharpen the feeling and the engagement of the body in space and in relation to the others.

“Isn’t your Body a continuous, unique and spectacular Landscape?”

Going through precise stages on continuous flow, the course initially sticks to question the availability and to look further into the relation with gravity (major/minor musculature, supports, tension and relief).  Tasks and open proposals would help cultivate a better conscience of the osseous support in order to eliminate or stimulate the muscular tensions, and articulate favorable ways to sharpen the feeling and the engagement of the body in space and in relation to the others.

Addressed to people of all levels of movement experience, the workshop is based on a playful approach of movement and improvisation.

Contact Improvisation is a partnering dance form, which increases awareness of the body, of its relation to the space and to others. Participants discover tools to work on their own physicality. Skills such as rolling, releasing, giving and supporting weight, expanding range of spatial concentration, lifting, catching, and falling help one move with and through gravity, share weight in motion.

The workshop delivers various strategies of composition without imposing any style or particular technique. The work focuses on notions such as performative states and body representation.  Using the dance material of each participant as a base, the workshop explores the possible transformations of movements and questions the physical and symbolical presence associated.

Dance is a way of communication of creativity.  Workshops can be designed for specific audience and objectives; in specific context, the process can be shown as a performance.
